Vairochana and Vajrapani Retreat

On the 25th of April, 2020, our college student, Venerable Jampa Choedhar la has completed a three months long Vairochana Retreat whereas a group of other college monks have completed a month long Vajrapani Retreat by taking an advantage of the nationwide lock down due to COVID-19. They performed the Fire Pujas separately on the Final Day assisted by the senior monastery abbot, Venerable Khenpo Kunga Dhondup la. The monastery office heartily congratulate all who sat for these two important retreats in strengthening their spiritual practices and best wishes for their spiritual lives.

COVID-19 Support for Pema Ts’al Monastery

On the 24th of April, Friday, Pema Ts’al Sakya Monastery was provided relief supplies in the on-going COVID-19 pandemic by Himalaya Asia Foundation. The Foundation has kindly donated us 450kgs of rice(18 sacks) and 150kgs of wheat flour. The monastery is very thankful to the Foundation and its director, Dr. Suzan ji for supporting the Monastery at this difficult time.

COVID-19 Donation to Gandaki Province

On behalf of Pema Ts’al Sakya Monastery, its director Venerable Lama Tashi Wangyal la and principal Venerable Lama Ngawang Tashi la visited the secretariat of Gandaki Province on the 21st of April, 2020, Tuesday. They presented the letters expressing sympathy and solidarity to the people of Nepal and a donation of Nepali rupees fifty-five thousand five hundred fifty-five(55,555) in the hands of honorable chief minister, Mr. Prithvi Subbha Gurung to support the most needy people including who solely depends on day’s wages at this COVID-19 pandemic.

Appointment of New Monastery Principal

Amidst the Annual Result Announcement and Prize Distribution Ceremony held on the 22nd of March, 2020, Venerable Lopoen Ngawang Tashi la was appointed the new principal of the Monastery as per the board members meeting of the Monastery. During the program, on behalf of all family members of the Monastery, Lopoen Ngawang Tashi la was felicitated by the Sr. Abbot of the Monastery, Venerable Khenpo Kunga Dhondup la. Venerable Lama Tashi Wangyal la was the predecessor of Ngawang Tashi la who worked in the best of his knowledge and capability for three solid years from 2017. Ngawang Tashi la joined the monastery when it was established on the 13th of March, 1999. He has completed the lower secondary level education, a cycle of monastic trainings, and the Buddhist philosophical studies up-to Master degree during his 20 years stay so far at the Monastery. Before his appointment as principal, he successfully served in the position of the Senior Food Manager for two solid years.

Annual Result Announcement & Prize Distribution Ceremony-2019/20

The ceremony was held on the 22nd of March, 2020 in presence of all monks of the monastery including both Sr. and Jr. Abbot of the Monastery Venerable Khenpo Kunga Dhondup la and Khenpo Jampa Dhakpa la respectively. The pass percentage of our college student was cent percent whereas the school student was 86 percent. Among various prizes, Lhaksam Dhondup la from class IV was awarded the Whole First, Kunga Tharchin la from class VIII was awarded the Best School Student and Dhaulagiri House was awarded the Cock House of the Year. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, none of the guests were invited from outside.

COVID-19 Check-Up

As a precaution measure, the body temperature of all monks of the monastery are being checked-up from time to time. Like on earlier times, the body temperature of all monks checked-up on the 10th of April, 2020 showed normal as well. The monks were also not found with any other symptoms of COVID-19. Stay Home! Stay Healthy!
